During 1996 BET Consultants was selected by New Jersey Transit and Parsons Brinckerhoff for preliminary design of “Section N-20” of Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Transit System.
This 1.7-mile segment of 20-mile LRT extended from 16th Street in Hoboken to Weehawken Tunnel in Weehawken. Within these limits, LRT tracks passed under 2 existing bridges, one viaduct and crossed 3 existing streets at grade. Three stations were located in this stretch.
